The minute travelers step into Seville, a magical spell of enchantment is cast on them by the palm-lined promenades and the cobblestone lanes. The cathedral at Seville is Christendom’s largest gothic church. Its majestic tower was earlier a great mosque’s minaret.

Cathedral de Sevilla:

Unparalleled for its abundant art treasures and its stunning scale, Seville Cathedral is Christendom’s largest gothic church. This unrivaled cathedral was built between the 15th and 16th centuries and is a World heritage site by the UNESCO. The tower of this cathedral was earlier the minaret of a mosque built by Moorish kings. It is still the emblem of Seville, as quoted by the Planetware.

Real Alcázar Fort:

Real Alcázar Fort is also included in the list of World Heritage sites of the UNESCO. It was earlier the fort of Moorish kings in the medieval era and later Christian rulers. It was built in 10th century by the Moorish kings and was ruled by legendary poet and ruler Al-Mutamid. The Moorish architects built the Mudéjar-style monuments for the cruel King Pedro after the conquest by the Christian rulers in 1360s. The gardens in this fort are abundant with sweet orange trees, colorful roses, and leafy palms.

With its roots in Gypsy culture, the flamboyant art form flamenco is the fame of Seville. An art form that is inclusive of both song and dance, flamenco is basically an outlet for the feelings of the soul. Flamenco performers are gifted with a special quality of expressing emotions along with the technical process.

Real Maestranza Bull Ring:

With a seating capacity for 14,000 spectators, Real Maestranza is one of the finest bullrings in Spain as also the largest one. It is a symbolic monument of Seville’s renowned tradition of bull fighting as well the as city constructed in 1761. It has elegant arcaded seating for the viewers that is shady in sunny days and designed in Baroque style. Oval shape of the bull ring is unique amongst the Spanish monuments.

Archeology Museum:

Built for the Latin American expo of 1929, the Archeology Museum features a Neo-renaissance pavilion and is situated inside the Parque de María Luisa. A collection at the museum includes roman and Greek antiquities, along with the collection from Phoenician and early Paleolithic period.

The Mudéjar items antiquities from the Moorish period are also present at this museum. The ground floor of the Archeology Museum also displays the artifacts that were found at the archaeological site Itálica located at a distance of nine kilometers in Seville province. The statue of Diana and the gold ornaments are among the attractions of this museum.  Among the highlights are the gold jewelry and a statue of Diana.
